Welcome to Shambles Bar & Restaurant

Shambles, which signifies butchers stall/slaughter house, was established in 1983 and is one of the only independent, family run Italian restaurants in the Borough of Richmond, within easy reach of Hampton Court Palace and Twickenham Rugby Ground. Teddington can boast being home to the lock and weir where there is a foot bridge to cross the Thames. Shambles Bar and Restaurant is also in close proximity to the Lensbury Club, the National Physical Laboratory and St Mary's University at Strawberry Hill. Teddington Station is served by South West Trains and buses 285, 281 and R68 pass the front door.

The premises is set in a Grade 2 listed, 17th century building which was used as a butchers shop for 250 years, hence the name! There are log fires for cosiness in the winter and a large rear garden with an informal atmosphere, including a boule alley, offering "al fresco" wining and dining when the sun is shining. The menu is modern Italian using seasonal and home grown produce, some of which comes from their own kitchen garden, which is open to customers. The chef Massimo has worked in various Michelin Star restaurants around the world, including 3 years with Giorgio Locatelli at Zafferano and Locanda Locatelli. The extensive wine list has mainly Italian wines from various regions with a few New World options, the front bar is great for nibbles or just a glass of draught Prosecco, Moretti or a bottle of Inedit beer (designed by Feran Adria), whilst listening to live piano music.
