Our family have been active in the Teddington community for over 40 years, instrumental in setting up the Christmas Lights/High Street Association and the original Village Fair, also campaigning to save St Alban’s Church (Landmark Arts Centre). We are currently corporate members of the Teddington Society and Friends of Teddington Memorial Hospital.
Franco and Jackie, in 1973 converted a “greasy spoon café” into what became their first award winning restaurant, Spaghetti Junction. In 1982 they acquired the then derelict butcher's shop where Shambles stands today. The premises are set in a Grade 2 listed, 17th century building, which was a butchers for over 250 years. Shambles, which signifies a butcher's stall/slaughter house, was established in 1983 and is one of the only independent, family owned Italian restaurants in the Borough of Richmond. Massimo and sister Margherita have been running the restaurant for the last decade, making Shambles a true family affair that still continues to champion Teddington’s restaurant scene today.
